The thorough investigation of crime and the bringing of perpetrators before court are crucial in the efforts of the SAPS to ensure successful convictions. This was proven once more during an investigation by Detective Sergeant, Adiel Noordien of Grassy Park SAPS detectives, when he arrested two suspects and brought them before court.

A 33 year old man from Parkwood was sentenced to an effective 15 years imprisonment for murder after he shot 23 year old Fagrie Isaacs in the head while he was sitting by a fire on the Wetlands in Parkwood on 8 May 2016.

The accused, Clint Rex, and another man were arrested by Detective Sergeant Adiel Noordien after all leads and information had been followed up. The case against the second suspect was subsequently withdrawn.

Following a lengthy investigation the remaining suspect was sentenced on 23 May 2018, in the Wynberg Regional Court on related charges.

Sergeant Adiel Noordien of the Grassy Park Serious and Violent Crimes Unit (SVC Unit) was commended for his sterling investigation and his commitment to the fight against crime. Police members are working around the clock to prevent and combat crime.
