Bishop Lavis police committed to remove unlicensed firearms from their streets and create a safer environment, on 21 June 2019, while on patrols the members conducted stop and search.

Upon searching men that were standing in Rooiels Street in Bonteheuwel, police found one of them in possession of a .38 Revolver with ammunition.

The suspect aged 30 was arrested and is due to make a court appearance in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 June 2019.
