Our endeavors to strengthen the relationship between police and communities in the fight against illegal firearms and drugs paid off on 24 July 2017, when police attached to the Lentegeur police station swiftly acted on information received from the community and searched a residence in Aloe Street, Lentegeur.

Two firearms with live rounds of ammunition, as well as drugs worth an estimated street value of R88 000 were seized after a search was conducted on the premises.

A 32 year old man will make his first appearance in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ Court, once charged, and he will face charges of illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of ammunition and possession of drugs.

Police management praised the community for their role in ridding the area of illegal firearms, ammunition and drugs.
