A man was arrested for house robbery and rape in Wesbank, Mfuleni on Wednesday, Western Cape police said.
“Shortly after a suspect perpetrated a house robbery in Wesbank, Mfuleni where he raped the victim, he was arrested in possession of all the stolen items,” spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said in a statement.
“During the early hours of this morning, the suspect gained entry to the residence of the victim by forcing the front door open. After raping the victim, he fled the scene with household goods which ended with his arrest minutes later.”
Traut said the man was expected to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of rape and house robbery.
