Members of the Major Offences Reaction Team based in Khayelitsha Cluster made a huge breakthrough when they intercepted a drug transaction on Wednesday 27 March 2019, at approximately 14:00. They were on vehicle patrols when they were informed of the alleged drug exchange in 31 Block, Makhaza.

Their reaction led to the arrest of three suspects’ age between 36 and 37 who were caught in the act at the corners of Japhta Masemola and Fukutha roads in Makhaza, Khayelitsha.

Police confiscated 510 mandrax tablets, two parcels of dagga and a substantial amount of cash in their possession. The three suspects are expected to make a court appearance in Khayelitsha once they are charged.
