In a targeted operation on Saturday, members of the Maitland Flying Squad successfully apprehended a suspect and seized a significant quantity of illicit drugs following a tip-off from the public.
The operation was launched in response to a complaint regarding drug activity at a premises in the Summer Greens area. Upon conducting a search of the property, officers discovered a substantial consignment of narcotics, including mandrax tablets, crystal meth, and cocaine. The drugs, along with an undisclosed amount of cash, were found concealed in various hidden compartments throughout the house.
A 49-year-old female was arrested on-site and is facing charges for dealing in drugs.
The suspect is expected to make her court appearance in Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 15 September 2025, to formally face the charges.
