The swift response of Maitland Flying Squad resulted in the arrest of two armed robbers on Thursday, 19 May 2022. The members were informed of a robbery that took place in the Lingelethu West area in Khayelitsha on 19 May 2022.
They acted on the information and arrested two suspects aged 34 and 39. A firearm, rounds of ammunition, four private hand radios, two bullet proof vests and a set of handcuffs were recovered.
Both suspects were arrested and detained at Harare SAPS on the charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s court on Monday, 23 May 2022.
In an unrelated incident, Langa SAPS arrested a 26-year-old male for dealing in drugs in Zone 16, Langa, after he was caught with a magazine, dagga and mandrax with an estimated street value of R9500.00. He will make his court appearance in the Cape Town Magistrate’s court on Monday, 23 May 2022.
