The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape police, Lieutenant General KE Jula has welcomed life sentence handed down to Ntuthuzelo Mayekiso, 25 years old for the murder of Lindokuhle Kota (One year two months).
The crime occurred in May 2017, Lingelethu police responded to the complaint at a local hospital where a nurse informed them that a 14 months old baby girl was brought in hospital by her grandmother. After the child was examined, it was established that she was already dead on arrival.
The child had bruises in her head and mouth.
Thorough investigation by the detective on the case, Sergeant Lungisa Nomdatya led to the sentencing of the accused today at the Cape High Court to a lengthy sentence of life imprisonment.
