Khat dealer arrested with unlicensed firearm, Kraaifontein

On 5 July 2019 at about 22:00, members of the Provincial Reaction Team were on duty when they received information that a spaza shop in Mphandle Street, Wallacedene, Kraaifontein is selling Khat at the shop.

The members conducted surveillance of the shop, when they noticed that there was indeed Khat being sold. Upon searching the shop they found six bundles of Khat and a 9mm pistol and eight rounds of ammunition.

The occupant (22), residing at the same address as the shop, was arrested for possession and dealing in Khat and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

He will appear at Blue Downs Magistrate’s court on Monday, 8 July 2019, on the mentioned charges.
