K9 Unit recovers Cape Town stolen vehicle and drugs in Worcester

Breede River K9 unit members on patrol responded to a call about a vehicle, stolen in Cape Town and intercepted the vehicle on the N1 highway towards Worcester on Saturday evening, 12 December 2020. Upon stopping the stolen vehicle, the Unit members also searched another vehicle that was driving in tandem with the stolen one and found drugs. A total of 973 mandrax tablets were discovered in the sedan.

A total of three suspects aged 19, 24 and 45 in the stolen vehicle were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. Two other suspects, aged 30 and 40, who were in the vehicle with drugs were charged with possession of drugs.

All arrested suspects who hail from Khayelitsha will appear in court on Monday, 14 December 2020.
