In an effort to curtail the increase in illegal drugs in the world, South Africa is currently hosting the 2nd Interpol global conference. The common intent is to improve international coordination in the fight against illegal drug trafficking.

The conference is set to address the challenges, current and emerging, met by law enforcement agencies around the world in their daily fight against drug trafficking and identify common strategies and exchange best practices, to further enhance the efforts by Interpol’s 194 member countries against this type of crime.

The event will also serve as a platform to tighten partnerships among the law enforcement officials, subject-matter experts and representatives of key regional and international bodies which play a crucial role in the fight against illegal drug trafficking with the aim of curbing this crime.

The conference is expected to attract approximately 400 delegates from Interpol’s 194 member countries
