In a swift intelligence-driven operation on Monday, 10 November 2025, members of the Milnerton SAPS arrested six suspects for the illegal possession of multiple firearms and ammunition.
The operation was launched after police received credible information that individuals suspected of extortion were at a tavern on Dumani Street in Du Noon, reportedly drinking and in possession of illegal firearms. Authorities immediately acted on the tip-off.
Upon arriving at the specified address, officers located the six suspects, aged between 22 and 34, who were drinking. On the table in front of them, police observed a small green bag and eight cellular telephones.
A subsequent search of the bag yielded a significant haul: four firearms along with 25 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The suspects were promptly placed under arrest. They face charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as possession of prohibited firearms. All six have been detained at the Milnerton SAPS holding cells.
