A 30-year-old Zimbabwean national will appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 18 December 2025. He was arrested on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, after Operation Shanela II members found 1,010 units of abalone in his white Ford Ranger on the R300 in Delft. He faces a charge of possession without a permit.
In a separate incident on Tuesday night, Malmesbury SAPS arrested three adult males on the N7. Officers stopped a black Opel Corsa driving on the wrong side of the road and discovered a large quantity of crayfish tails inside. The suspects will appear in the Malmesbury Magistrates’ Court once charged, for possession of crayfish without a permit.
