To ensure that offenders are brought to book, members of Grassy Park police conducted a search operation in Ocean View for a suspect wanted on a murder charge. Upon their arrival at the residence in Daisy Circle, the suspect fled the area on foot and managed to evade arrest.
The residence was searched which led to the discovery of 3228 mandrax tablets buried in 5 litre tins in the back yard as well as R6410-00 cash believed to be the proceeds of drug trafficking.
A 49 year old man who was found on the premises was arrested and he is due to make a court appearance in Simons Town once he has been charged. The suspect who fled from the residence is still being sought for the murder which was committed in Parkwood on 25 April 2020.
