Relentless efforts and sleepless nights by Nyanga Detectives to ensure that criminals who continue to take people’s lives are brought to book resulted to the arrest of a 37 year old taxi driver in connection with the murder, attempted murder and house robbery case which occurred on Monday night 8 April 2019, in Klipfontein Mission in Crossroads.

The suspects robbed Plasma TV’s, cash and cell phones, shot a 30 year old woman and her brother and fled the scene. The woman succumbed to the injuries she sustained in hospital.

Since the incident had occurred the detectives could not sleep and busted the suspect this morning in Better Life in Philippi East. Police are searching for the remaining suspects and the vehicle used during the incident was also found.

The suspect is expected to appear in Athlone Magistrate Court once charged for murder, attempted murder and house robbery.

In a separate incident a 22 year old was also arrested at about 07:55 for kidnapping and rape. The suspect and accomplices allegedly kidnapped and raped 18 year woman last month in Xilinxa Street, Browns Farm.

He is expected to appear in Wynberg Magistrate Court this week for kidnapping and rape.

The members were applauded for ensuring that the suspects are brought to book.
