The vigilance of Flying squad members during the early hours of this morning, 27 June 2018, resulted in the apprehension of six suspects who were caught in possession of a zip gun.
At around 00:30, the attention of the members on patrol were drawn to a suspicious VW Polo in Ndadwa Street in Nyanga. Upon further investigation and a search of the vehicle, a handmade firearm and one round of ammunition were discovered.
All six occupants of the vehicle, five males and one female aged between 20 and 27 were arrested and are due to make a court appearance in Athlone once they have been charged.
