In line with the SAPS vision to prevent and combat crime that may threaten the safety and security of communities, police members attached to the Western Cape Provincial Integrated Team conducted an intelligence driven operation on Tuesday, 27 October 2020 in Du Noon, Milnerton.

A search warrant was executed at a premises in Jasmine Street, Du Noon and it is alleged that the main suspect is out on parole and is a convicted armed robber.

When the members searched the premises the suspects were found in possession of imitation firearms with SAPS issue equipment and uniform pieces. The members seized a torch, a baton, SAPS reflector jacket, handcuffs, shoes, boots, police issue uniform pieces, student ranks and two imitation firearms.

Two suspects aged 28 and 38 were arrested and are due to appear to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court once they have been charged for the possession of shotgun ammunition and presumed stolen state property.

In an unrelated matter on 26 October 2020, at about 22:00, the members followed up on information in Lingelethu West area after a house robbery occurred in Firgrove, Macassar. Two suspects aged 26 and 30 were arrested and detained and they are expected to appear in Somerset West Court on 28 October 2020.

The hired vehicle, a grey Polo Vivo, used in the commission of crime was also confiscated as well as stolen property that was taken during the house robbery.
