The Holy Cross Primary School in Cape Town was partially damaged by a fire. Staff and pupils were evacuated and the cause of the fire is not yet known.

The suspicion is that it was set on fire intentionally but no confirmation has yet been be obtained.

It is the third school that has been damaged in a fire in the past two months while there is a large shortage of classrooms and many pupils have not even been placed in the overcrowded schools.
