The residents of the small West Cape town of Redelinghuys, about 160 km north of Cape Town, had to watch helplessly this morning, 9 April 2019, as the Dutch Reformed Church, a historic building, burned down.

The cornerstone of this church was laid on October 5, 1918.

It is believed that fire started at one of the cell phone masts mounted on the tower, but the official cause of the fire will be determined by the investigating teams.
