Success has been achieved following interventions by the SAPS in Muizenberg after incidents of robbery that occurred on the mountain in the Kalk Bay area recently.
The Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula, is pleased with the arrest of two men, aged 18 and 32 years respectively, on charges of robbery with a weapon other than a firearm.
The duo were arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred on a hiking trail on the mountain above Kalk Bay on Saturday 13 January 2018, when nine people were robbed and five were stabbed.
The suspects were arrested on 11 February 2018, following the release of two identikits that were compiled by SAPS, and they appeared in the Muizenberg Magistrates’ Court yesterday, 13 February 2018. They remain in custody.
