Police attached to Khayelitsha Cluster Operational Crime Combating unit (COCC) arrested two suspects who were allegedly involved in hijacking a white VW Polo TSI on Tuesday, 27 March 2019.
The members were on vehicle patrols at approximately 04:00 when they received a complaint of carjacking in 60 Block, Kuyasa, Khayelitsha. Upon following up the leads they managed to track down the vehicle that was parked in Lwandle, Strand.
The two suspects aged 21 and 28 respectively were arrested with two imitation firearms in their possession. Once charged they are expected to appear in Khayelitsha Magistrate Court.
Members were applauded for their vigilance and swift reaction that led to the arrest of the perpetrators.
