A 25-year-old male was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Manenberg on 1 December 2022. Members of the Maitland Flying Squad searched a house in the area and discovered a 9mm pistol with ammunition.
The firearm was seized and the male was detained at Manenberg SAPS.
The suspect will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 5 December 2022.
On 2 December 2022, the members recovered a hijacked vehicle and a firearm in Browns Farm, Philippi.
Two suspects aged 28 and 40 were arrested for possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
The suspects will make their court appearance in Athlone on Monday, 5 December 2022.
