The Mitchells Plain police, committed to rid the area of drugs during youth month, acted on information they received during the early hours of this morning, 16 June 2018, about drugs that are kept at a house in Beacon Valley, Mitchells Plain.

The members searched the premises and they found in the suspect’s possession 244 heroin straws and eight small packets of tik. The drugs have an estimated street value of R7500. A 24 year old man was arrested and is facing a charge of possession of drugs.

In an unrelated matter, members attached to the Mitchell’s Plain Firearms, Liquor and Second Hand Goods Unit executed a search warrant on 15 June 2018 in Beacon Valley after receiving information that liquor was being sold without a valid liquor license.

A total of 97 litres of liquor were confiscated. A suspect, aged 43, was arrested.

Both these men will appear on Monday, 18 June 2018 in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ Court on charges relating to possession of drugs and selling liquor without a valid liquor license.
