Hawks dismantle an alleged hydroponic dagga lab

The Hawks’ George and Cape Town Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) have taken down the alleged hydroponic dagga lab in Cape Town on 4 December 2018.

Two suspects aged 54 and 56 we arrested at their small holding farm in mikpunt, klipheuwel, near Cape Town. They were arrested during the take down operation that uncovered 158 dagga plants to the estimated value of R15, 800 and 19 jars of harvested dagga heads to the value of R50,000.

The duo is expected to appear at Blue Downs Magistrates court on 5 December to face the charges of dealing in dagga.

Hawks investigation into the hydroponic dagga lab ensued in George following the arrest of Zander Willem Theron (21) on the 27 November 2018. Theron briefly appeared at George Magistrates Court on charges of dealing in dagga on 28 November and was granted R1000 bail.

The case against Theron was remanded to the 15 February 2019.
