Members attached to Operation Thunder secured arrests during the past 24 hours. The operation team has been deployed to ensure stability in various areas with gangs, violent crimes and drug trafficking.
The multidisciplinary team, comprising of Intelligence Analysts, Proactive, Combat, K9, detectives and forensics conducted a multi-dimensional approach towards policing in Bishop Lavis, Elsies River, Manenberg, Philippi, Nyanga, Ravensmead, Mitchells Plain, Steenberg and Philippi East.
Their multi-dimensional policing methods yielded successful results and they arrested seven suspects for various crimes as follows:
Possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, murder, attempted murder, Rape and discharging of a firearm
The SAPS Management in the province commended the efforts by operational teams for participating in ridding the areas of criminal elements. Operations will be conducted throughout to stabilize the Western Cape.
