Gang violence, teenager arrested with homemade zip gun, Kraaifontein

Continues efforts by members of the Western Cape Flying Squad to curb gang violence in our communities yielded positive results when they arrested an 18-year-old suspect for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition last night, 29 October 2021 in Kraaifontein.

The members were busy with stop and search operations when they found the suspect in possession of a homemade zip gun with ammunition.

In an unrelated matter, members of Atlantis police arrested a 27-year-old suspect for the possession of a unlicensed firearm when they stopped a suspicious vehicle in Cawdor Street, Saxonsea, Atlantis on Thursday, 28 October 2021. The members found a pistol in the vehicle.

The suspects will make their respective court appearances in Kuilsriver and Atlantis Magistrate’s courts on Tuesday, 02 November 2021.
