Our sights are focussed on gang related crime in this province as indicated by members of the Tactical Response Team this morning, 7 August 2018, when two suspects were apprehended in Steenberg in possession of unlicensed firearms.
Information was pursued by the members, which led them to the residence of the suspects, aged 29 and 39. Upon police arrival, the suspects made a brief attempt to flee, but were no match for the TRT members. Two firearms, a 9mm pistol and a .45 pistol with ammunition were found in their possession and confiscated.
The two suspects are due to make a court appearance in Wynberg later this week.
