Detectives attached to the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) are seeking the assistance of the public to trace four rape suspects who allegedly violated a 31-year-old woman on 18 October 2022 at Hope Street, George.

Investigation into the incident reveals that the woman was walking near the bridge at Hope Street at about 20:30 when she was approached by four men.

The foursome grabbed her and took her under the bridge. Three of the suspects took turns to rape her and fled the scene thereafter.

Identikits of the four men are hereby attached for circulation.

The investigation officer, Sergeant Ntobeko Nogcinisa urges the public to come forward with any information which could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

In unrelated matters, FCS detectives are also looking for two women, Sorica Jansen and Nomusa Butherley, who would be able to assist police with cases reported in the recent past.

Both witnesses resided in Thembalethu, George at the time, but are believed to have moved elsewhere in the meantime. Anyone with information about their whereabouts is requested to contact Warrant Officer Martin Borg at 044 8034621 or 076 864 3633.
