Four suspects arrested for possession of stolen copper cables

WESTERN CAPE – Our ongoing endeavours to eradicate crime in the province and bring perpetrators to book yielded results when the members attached to Malmesbury Crime Prevention Unit were conducting regular patrols in the Malmesbury CBD. They spotted a vehicle with four occupants yesterday, 28 January 2020. Members approached the vehicle and ask the driver to pull over. Upon conducting a search in the vehicle, members found two bags containing stolen copper cables. A body search was also conducted of all four occupants and it resulted in the seizure of an unlicensed firearm with rounds of ammunition.

The suspects aged between 27 and 36 were arrested and are expected to make a court appearance in the Malmesbury Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, 30 January 2020 on charges of possession of presumed stolen property possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
