Flying squad recovers another unlicensed firearm, Cape Town

Members of the Western Cape Flying Squad upheld the mission of the SAPS by preventing and combating crime that may threaten the safety and security of the Factreton and Kensington Communities, when they made two significant arrests.

On Sunday, 20 October 2019, at about 16:30, the members received information of armed males at a premises in Waarnemer Square, Factreton. Upon attending to the complaint, and searching the premises, they found, two males aged 20, in possession of a firearm and ammunition, in a room in the house.

A black, Taurus 9mm pistol, with serial number filed off, 16 x 9mm rounds and one black 9mm magazine was confiscated.

The suspects were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Once charged they will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court, where after bail will be opposed.
