The SAPS management of the Western Cape hailed the positive contribution of partnership policing to the fight against crime after swift response by the police led to the arrest of a 33 year old man in Harare.
According to information provided a five a year old girl went missing after she had been playing at her grandmother’s residence yesterday, 23 July 2018, at 18:00. The child left for home, but she never arrived.
The community started searching for her and her clothes were found near a shack, where her body was found shortly after. She had sustained stab wounds to her chest.
A preliminary investigation led to the arrest of a 33 year old man. Once he has been charged for murder and rape he will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court.
The SAPS management encourages the community to join hands with the police in protecting children from ruthless criminals who prey on them.
