Vigilant Brackenfell SAPS members who followed up on information removed firearms from the streets and arrested a 28 year old suspect.

The man from Protea Village, Brackenfell was arrested last night, Monday 16 April 2018, for possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition and illegal explosives.

Members working in the Brackenfell SAPS Community Service Centre received information about illegal firearms being kept at a residence in Protea Village. A search warrant was obtained and at approximately 19:50 on Monday evening Brackenfell SAPS members entered and searched the premises.

The following items were found and confiscated by SAPS: 16 Magazines, 5 firearms (pistols) with serial numbers filed off, 1 Rusty revolver, 1 Shotgun, 1 Silencer, 1 Telescope, 1 Stun grenade

The arrested 28 year old suspect was detained and is due to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ Court. The investigation continues.
