Vigilant SAPS members attached to Philadelphia SAPS responded to a house robbery/ farm attack on Monday, 30 July 2018 at approximately 18:00 and arrested four suspects age between 30 and 35 in possession of the stolen property.

The perpetrators gained access to a small holding at approximately 09:00 in the morning and overpowered and tied up the domestic worker and two other employees. They continued to ransack the premises and used a grinder to gain access to the safe, where a firearm, jewellery, and cash were stored.

The domestic worker managed to undo the knots at approximately 12:30 and called the local SAPS.

Members of the local neighbourhood watch units and the local SAPS responded to the distress call and apprehended four foreign nationals. The firearm with two magazines and thirty rounds, jewellery, TV remotes, South African and international currency and cellular phones were found in the possession of the suspects.

They are expected to make a court appearance on Thursday, 2 August 2018, in Atlantis. The possibility that the suspects were involved in other similar cases is under investigation.
