A farm attack took place at about 23:00, in the Keerweder area in Paarl and was reported on 18 October. An emergency call was made to the Drakenstein Farm watch control centre that three men, wearing balaclavas entered the house through an open window and forced the woman to collect valuables and jewellery, they wanted money, jewellery, electronics and firearms. The attackers then tied the mother and children up and left the premises. The mother managed the free herself, locked herself into a safe room and made the alarm.

Within minutes, the Drakenstein Farm watch teams and security ADT/Fidelity and PACRS were on scene and searching the area. Luckily, some stolen items had a GPS tracker in them. The farm watch had the beacon carrier tracking device and a manhunt was organised in minutes.

The lead vehicle used WhatsApp tracking, to live feed to all others with the direction they were driving in pursuit of the robbers. This proved very successful. A hot pursuit led through Paarl and ended up in Mbekweni/Paarl. The area was immediately surrounded by dog units of the K9 police, the Drakenstein Farm watch and ADT/fidelity and Pacrs security armed response teams. Phangela swat security joint the efforts.

After an intensive search on foot, some of the stolen goods were retrieved. Only a big TV was missing.

The attackers, with the teams on their tracks, tried to hide the goods but the gps trackers gave the exact location of one of the electronic devices. The Drakenstein farm watch also has Licence plate recognition cameras (LPR ) on strategic positions and various leads have already been shared with police.

In the early morning, an observant response officer from Vitas Schola saw a suspicious man walking with a TV and stopped the man and retrieved the TV. It seems the TV matches the stolen one at the house robbery.

The police investigation is ongoing.
