A violent farm attack took place on Monday evening, 21 october 2019, at 22:00, just outside of Grabouw, Western Cape province. Henfre Nel (50) was stabbed numerous times during the attack. Nel had gone outside to investigate possible trespassers on his farm when he was attacked. Nel was stabbed but managed to flee into the house to protect his family but the attacker kicked in a window and continued the assault.
Nel was stabbed numerous times whilst defending his family and lost lots of blood. It seems that the attacker was intent on killing Nel as he then fled with only phones and wallets leaving the farmer bleeding profusely.
