A farm attack took place on 21 August 2020, at 07:22, at the Hillcrest Berry farm, in Stellenbosch, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The owner Raymond O’Grady was assaulted and his wife Betty abducted by the attackers who fled in the couple’s white double cab Toyota Highlux bakkie.
The couple were asleep in their home when they were attacked and overpowered by the armed attackers. O’Grady was stabbed five times and is in a critical condition in ICU. The attackers abandoned the vehicle in Kayamandi and fled on foot leaving the wife in the bakkie. The woman who was severely traumatized made her way back to the farm in the vehicle.
There is no other information available at this stage. Police are investigating the attack. There have been no arrests.
