Farm attack, 11 people assaulted, tied up, man strangled, Stanford

A farm attack took place on the night of 10 September 2021, at 20:30 on a guest farm between Stanford and Hermanus, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Three balaclava clad armed attackers overpowered nine guests, including a baby and small boy and their two hosts.

The attackers were armed with a gun, a crowbar and a screwdriver.

Everyone was tied up and the venue was ransacked. The attackers helped themselves to food and alcohol while they stole cell phones, jewelry, cash and other valuable items.

The attackers then made everyone stand up in a line as if they were going to be executed and then they took one of the men to the bedroom where they strangled him with a rope. The man was lucky to survive as the rope broke during the assault.

The attackers then fled on foot.

The alarm was raised and local security companies responded and recued the terrified group.

The Stanford police are investigating the attack but there have been no arrests.

There is no other information available at this stage.
