The swift response of police members resulted in the arrest of two suspects during an intelligence driven operation in Gugulethu.
Police members attached to the Provincial Extortion Task Team were busy with search and seizure operations in Gugulethu in the early hours of Wednesday, 29 March 2023.
They drove to a residence in Dlova Street and conducted a search.
Their persistence were rewarded when they confiscated three 9mm pistols with ammunition.
The members arrested and detained two males aged 33 on two counts of possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition and one count of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
They are due to appear in the Athlone Magistrates court once charged.
