Yesterday morning a gang of black males armed with handguns and automatic weapons brazenly robbed the Durbanville Spur, quite literally a “stones throw” (maybe 250 meters) from the Durbanville police station.
The suspects fled in the direction of Durban road and made their escape into Eversdal and Kenridge.
One police officer was shot in the head and is in a stable condition in hospital. A suspect was shot in his backside.
A combined effort by ADT Security, CDF, Bassett Alarms, SAPS and neighbourhood watch patrollers contributed to the arrest of two suspects.
One armed suspect in shorts and a white t-shirt is said to be hiding in the Kenridge area.
