Zafar Yusuph (40) appeared in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on 30 November 2020, and was found guilty on a charge of contravening the provision of the drugs trafficking Act.
Yusuph was arrested on 21 November 2019, after the Hawks South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) uncovered 1 kg Heroine and 1500 Mandrax tablets worth a total street value of R360 000-00.
The accused has been sentenced to a fine of R50 000-00 or three (3) years imprisonment. Additionally, he was sentenced to three (3) years imprisonment suspended for five (5) years with stringent conditions.
