Efforts to rid our communities of the illegal drug trade led to the arrest of a 22-year-old male on the night of 30 April 2022, in Kilimanjaro Road, Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain.
The members of Mitchells Plain Crime Prevention Unit were busy with patrols when they noticed a white Opel Corsa light delivery vehicle driving reckless in the road. The vehicle was stopped and searched and 200 mandrax tablets were found in the vehicle.
Furthermore Mitchells Plain police arrested a 51-year-old male for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition last night at about 20:46 in Tafelberg Street, Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain.
The members responded to a complaint of a shooting incident when the suspect was arrested with a CZ 75 pistol and ammunition.
The suspects are due to make their court appearances in the Mitchells Plain Magistrates court on Tuesday respectively.
