Members of Gordons Bay police received a tip off from an anonymous source about a white Toyota Yaris Sedan that was on its way to make a big delivery of drugs. Members responded by patrolling Lancaster Street where they sighted the mentioned vehicle on 23 October 2019, at around 10:00.

As they approached it in an attempt to pull it over, the vehicle sped off. A high speed chase ensued and ultimately ended when the driver of the suspected vehicle lost control and rolled in Sir Lowry Road near a dumping site.

The members found a substantial amount of drugs on the scene and arrested the driver of the vehicle, a 39 year old male. The suspect is expected to make a court appearance on charges related to drug trafficking.

The Western Cape SAPS management commended the members for their commitment to bring the perpetrators to book.
