Police in Christiana acting on a tip-off, nabbed two suspects respectively in Marikana Section on Saturday, 12 May 2018 for alleged dealing in drugs.
The first suspect, 26, was arrested at his place of residence after being found in possession of 83,90 kg of dagga. Further probe led the police to the second suspect’s place of residence in the same neighbourhood. The suspect, 30, was allegedly found in possession of approximately 40 tablets suspected to be mandrax. He was also arrested.
They are expected to appear in the Bloemhof Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 14 May 2018 facing charges of possession of drugs.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane lauded the members and the public for their collaboration that culminated in the arrests. She said that alone, the police will not be successful in the fight against crime.
