To create a safe and secure environment for all people, police members attached to the Cape Town Central Crime Prevention Unit followed up information they received about a drug dealer busy with drug deals in the Green Point area.

On the of night of 5 February 2018, at about 17:00 while on patrol in Green Point, members received a tip off about a suspected drug dealer. Officers acted on this information and arrested a 48 year old man in Somerset Road, Green Point for possession with the intent to distribute various drugs.

The drugs found included Dagga, Ecstasy, Cocaine, Mushrooms and Tik with an estimated street value of R150 000.

Western Cape Provincial Commissioner Lt Gen KE Jula commended the community who joined the police in their efforts to remove drugs that destroy the lives of young people in their community.
