Violence against women and children are on top of the Western Cape SAPS priority list and we will do everything possible to bring perpetrators to book. This was shown again by Milnerton SAPS Domestic Violence Co-coordinators when they ensured that an offender was brought to book.

Early on the morning of 10 July 2020, the members went to serve a protection order in Milnerton Ridge. On their arrival at the given address the suspect didn’t want to give in his legal firearm and he refused to open the firearm safe.

The members took his firearm safe to Milnerton police station and opened it. Different calibers of firearm ammunition were found inside the safe. The suspect’s legal firearm and magazine was seized including the ammunition that was found.

During June 2020 a criminal case was opened against the 34-year-old suspect. He was arrested and will appear in Cape Town Magistrate Court on Monday, 13 July 2020 for pointing of firearm and possession of ammunition.
