In an effort to ensure that Western Cape communities are and feel safe, several operations were embarked upon from Friday until Sunday 16 February 2019, across all precincts within the Province.

In Bishop Lavis three firearms were confiscated and three suspects age 18, 23 and 24 arrested during an integrated operation comprising Anti Gang Unit and Operation Thunder forces who descended on several locations on Friday evening 15 February 2019.

In Bellville, crime prevention unit members arrested two suspects aged 28 and 29 in the CBD for possession of 5900 bunches of Khat packaged in 11 boxes weighing 640kg.

In Kraaifontein a thousand mandrax tablets were seized in another operation where two suspects were arrested.

In Langebaan one suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property and house breaking implements after members on patrol.

Southern Cape police in Conville apprehended six suspects, confiscated two replica firearms, stolen cellphones and quantities of drugs.

In Wallacedene, Kraaifontein members of the provincial intervention on an operation arrested a 20 year old after being found in possession of 549 bank lies of dagga weighing 2, 4kg and 3,3kg of loose dagga.

All arrested suspects are expected to appear in court soon. Meanwhile other operations are set to continue.
