On Wednesday 18 July 2018, at about 16:40 members stationed at Grassy Park Crime Prevention unit were busy with patrols in Klip Road, Grassy Park, when they spotted a suspicious vehicle, which sped off when the occupants saw the police vehicle.

Following a brief pursuit the grey Ford Bantam LDV was stopped and searched, which led to the discovery of tik, and mandrax tablets estimated at a street value of R 14 000-00. Both suspects aged 32 and 44 were arrested.

In a separate incident the same members arrested a 31 year old suspect in Italian Road, Grassy Park, with counterfeit R100-00 notes. The suspect who was driving a Mercedes Benz made an attempt to flee when he saw police, but he was swiftly apprehended. A black box containing counterfeit R 100 notes was recovered in the boot.

All of the above suspects will make their first appearance once charged on the related charges in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court.
