City to assess training for second Neighbourhood Safety Team

Executive Mayor, Dan Plato and Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith will assess the training of Law Enforcement recruits for the City’s second Neighbourhood Safety Team (NST) in Bonteheuwel.

The NST will see the deployment of 100 dedicated officers for Bonteheuwel in June, modelled on the NST pilot project that was launched in Delft in December 2017. The first members of the team will be on parade as well as those still training.

The establishment of this NST was made possible through additional funding secured by the Safety and Security Directorate via the January Adjustments Budget.
