A cash-in-transit robber as per the attached identikit is sought in connection with a brazen armed robbery that took place at the organic fresh fruit produce market along Laing Street, George industrial area on the afternoon of 21 December 2020.

Two unknown suspects approached an employee of the market, one of them reportedly stated that he was there to collect a Stokvel order. All of sudden the two suspects drew firearms and ordered all employees to lie down behind a counter. A fidelity cash truck then arrived at the premises to collect cash. The guards were threatened with firearms and disarmed in the process.

The suspects demanded safe keys and took undisclosed amount of money from the office. The driver of the cash truck noticed the commotion and attempted to drive away but the truck was blocked by a white Toyota Hilux bakkie that was nearby. He was also disarmed and ordered to open the doors at the back of the truck where more cash was also taken before the suspects who were approximately seven in number got away.
