The swift response of police resulted in two suspects being arrested shortly after they robbed a business in Bellville on 20 February 2018.

Three armed suspects threatened the staff of a chain retail store, situated in Voortrekker Road at around 16:15, and fled the scene with clothing and fragrance products.

SAPS members were quick to respond, and spotted the getaway vehicle, a Toyota Avanza. After a short pursuit, two of the suspects were arrested and are due to make a court appearance in Bellville on a charge of aggravated robbery, once they have been charged.

The stolen items were retrieved.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape police, Lt Gen KE Jula praised his members for their efforts to apprehend the suspects without any civilian being injured during peak traffic in the area.
